2015 No Insurance Penalty

If you don’t have healthcare coverage this year, you’ll be paying a larger penalty than those without coverage did in 2014. This trend will continue every year and will adjust for inflation.

The penalty for 2015 is 2% of your household income or $325 per person, whichever is higher. If you have children in your household under the age of 18, it is $162.50 per child.

In 2016, the penalty will 2.5% of your household income, or $695 per person. The penalty charge will be added to your tax return each year you go without coverage.
